Last Saturday (November 9th, 2019), we went to Dien Bien to give gifts to ethnic children who are badly needing warm clothes and other things in the beginning of winter this year.
Tia Mo So is the most crowded school in poor Sá Tong commune, Mường Cha district, Điện Biên province. The children are 100% H’mong ethnicity.
Largely inaccessible roads, cold wind, fog all year round are the only “specialties” in this highland village. Despite their hard work, the sloping terrain, the barren land, and the harsh climate insure that hunger clings to the Mong ethnic people here. When hunger reigns, education for children is still considered as a “luxury”.
With the desire to share some difficulties with the children here, Shining Star Kindergarten gave the children and people here 65 boxes of noodles, 40 packages of monosodium glutamate, 72 packs of washing powder, 50 tubes of tooth paste P / S , 200 toothbrushes, 120 items including blankets, wool hats and coats.
The value of the gifts is not much, but with the spirit of solidarity, we hope to contribute somehow emotional support as well as to share with the difficulties of children and people here.
The charity trip ended in full emotion and love in the eyes and smiles of the children who live in the mountainous area and are in difficult circumstances. It is also a great joy and encouragement for all teachers and staff at Shining Star Kindergarten.
Hopefully, the gifts of the beginning of the winter will help them gain more confidence and consensus to continue learning, trying to overcome difficulties and rise in life.
